Hello Manara parents!

My name is Riaz Sultana and I am citizen of Canada – born and brought up in India. I have had the opportunity to live in various beautiful parts of the world like Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and now USA. I am a Bachelor of Arts in Child Psychology and a Post Graduate in Business Administration. I also have a PG Diploma in Early Childhood Education.  I am a Manara Mom like yourself from the past six years and have also had the wonderful opportunity to Sub for Manara as well as Coppell ISD for the past couple of years. I am delighted to be starting my teaching career at Manara Academy his year. You’ll be surprised to know that most of your children know me very well and love me.

I have two beautiful boys- the younger one is in 5th grade  and the older one has just started University at UTD. I am an animal lover and am mom to a cute little monk parakeet called Sonic.

While subbing for Manara I realized the vast scope an EL school (Manara) offers towards moulding the next generation and making them well rounded individuals. I feel very fortunate to be teaching my first year here.

Outside of school I have a passion for all things ART related- in particular giving art lessons to all age groups in Recreation Centres across Irving and Coppell. I also love cooking and enjoy making all sorts of delicacies.

I’m looking forward to contributing to help your children learn and grow at Manara Academy as we grow together in this outstanding school. For this, I will need your contribution and support every step of the way. Hope to get to know all of you more as the year progresses.

My name is Danyelle Turner and I am delighted and excited to be your child’s second grade teacher. This is my fifth year in education. I have taught as a para professional in Cedar Hill, a pre-k teacher and as a Kindergarten teacher in Frisco. I graduated from Texas A&M University Commerce where I earned my Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my family cooking and watching movies. I love to dance and Choreograph different genres of dancing. I love to travel and I plan on traveling the world one day. I love seafood, all genres of music, shopping, being in church and I love football. I am a huge Cowboy fan!

It is my passion to teach and a true love of mine. I am excited for the 2016-2017 school year and I look forward to all the new experiences and memories that your child and I will create this year!!!!

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to CHANGE THE WORLD.  -Nelson Mandela

So glad to be at Manara Academy again this year! I've been in 2nd Grade for 2 1/2 years now and LOVE IT! While I enjoy all our lessons, my favorite part of 2nd grade is teaching our learners to love writing.

This is my family... Samuel (19) is going off to college. Isaiah is beginning 7th grade; and Anastasia is taking on 3rd grade.  My husband, Deron, is also in Education (4th Grade Duel language) As a family we lived in Argentina for over 10 years.  We ran leadership training institutes and taught in a Spanish/English school for several years. I understand what it is like to adapt to new cultures and languages and love the international/multi-cultural excitement of Manara.  For a little extra fun in the classroom I teach the kids spanish phrases while they try to teach me Arabic. Our goal this year is to build a strong crew that supports and encourages each other academically & emotionally.... and most importantly, to HAVE FUN LEARNING!
